Vorik-AF Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called antifungals. It works by stopping the growth of fungus and is used to treat a wide range of fungal infection. It kills fungi by destroying the fungal cell membrane.

Vorik-AF Tablet should be taken in the dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. It should be swallowed whole. It should be taken one hour before or one hour after a meal. The dosage and length of treatment will depend on the condition you are being treated for. Sometimes this will be in cycles of use and non-use. To get the most benefit, take this medicine at evenly spaced times and continue using it until your prescription is finished, even if your symptoms disappear after a few days. If you stop treatment too early, the infection may return and if you miss doses you can increase your risk of infections that are resistant to further treatment. Tell your doctor if the infection does not get better or if it gets worse.

The most common side effects of this medicine include rash, vomiting, nausea, and headache. These are not usually serious, but you should call your doctor if you think you might have a severe allergic reaction. Signs of this include rash, swelling of the lips, throat or face, swallowing or breathing problems, feeling dizzy or faint and nausea. Get emergency help if this happens.

Do not take it if you are pregnant or could become pregnant unless your doctor has told you to. Talk to your doctor before taking it if you have ever had heart failure, a weak immune system (including HIV/AIDS), kidney problems or liver problems such as yellow skin (jaundice). This medicine may not be suitable for you. If your course of treatment is for more than a month, your doctor may want to check your liver by testing your blood. This medicine may make you dizzy or have blurred vision so do not drive or operate machines until it is safe.

HOW TO COPE WITH SIDE EFFECTS?
The occurrence of side effects varies from person to person. The following are a few ways of dealing with some of the common side effects. However, consult your doctor if these persist.
Coping with Abnormal liver function tests
There may be no symptoms, so your doctor should carry out a blood test and give you advice. Some lifestyle changes can bring down levels of liver enzymes. In general, you will need to stop drinking alcohol or limit the amount you drink, lose weight and keep active. Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration. Eat a healthy diet. Some particular foods like nuts, fatty fish, coffee, tea, olive oil, sprouts and bananas may be beneficial. Try to control stress as this can make your symptoms worse.
Coping with Slow heart rate
Splash your face with cold water and breathe deeply. This will help you to relax. Exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet and maintain a healthy weight. Manage your blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Limit your alcohol intake or drink in moderation, do not smoke and manage your stress levels. If your condition does not improve, speak to your doctor as you may be offered a different type of medicine.
Coping with Altered vision
Speak to your doctor about ways of preventing or reducing this side effect if it bothers you. They may be able to reduce your dose or prescribe you an alternate medicine. Bright spots or shimmering lights in your vision are not usually dangerous but may be a symptom of a variety of eye diseases. Be careful when driving or operating machinery where sudden changes of light can happen, especially while driving at night.
Coping with Headache
Make sure you rest and drink plenty of fluids. Rest in a quiet, dimly lit room. Do not sleep more than you normally would. Do not strain your eyes (for example by looking at a screen). Do not drink alcohol. Headaches are usually temporary and usually go away with time. But, if they last longer or get worse, ask your doctor to recommend a painkiller.
Coping with Nausea
You can help yourself by eating small, frequent meals rather than large ones and drinking plenty of fluids. Eat slowly. Avoid fatty, fried, spicy and very sweet foods. Eat cold or slightly warm food if the smell of cooked or cooking food makes you feel sick. Get plenty of fresh air. You could also try chewing ginger or drinking ginger tea. Eat bananas to replace potassium in your blood which can drop if you are sick (vomit). Use oral rehydration salts to replace vitamins and minerals lost through being sick. There are some medicines that can help you stop from feeling sick. Speak to your doctor if your condition does not improve.
Coping with Rash
There are many treatments for a wide range of skin problems. Avoid hot showers or baths because hot water can irritate the skin. Make sure to pat dry your skin after a bath or shower. Do not rub or scratch the affected area. Leave the skin exposed to the air as much as possible. Do not use perfumed soaps or deodorants. Water containing chlorine can make most skin problems worse, so avoid swimming. Avoid spicy foods, alcohol, tobacco smoke and caffeine as it may also make itching worse. Avoid excessive sun exposure. Always use sunscreen and protective clothing when outdoors. Moisturizers can be used regularly to soothe and hydrate the affected area. If it does not get better within a week, speak to a pharmacist or doctor.
Coping with Vomiting
